On the back of the plate: "Located at the corner of Michigan & Trumbull, Tiger Stadium remains the oldest address in baseball, and is considered one of the best places in the world to watch America's favorite pastime. the stadium began as Bennett Park in 1896, and was renamed Navin Field in 1912. the newly renamed Briggs Stadium was expanded in 1938, and with the addition of the major leagues only double-deck bleachers, the capacity was increased to 58,000. On January 1, 1961 it became Tiger Stadium. Filled with memories of baseball heroes like Ty Cobs, Mickey Cochrane, and Al Kaline, Tiger Stadium may be the most beloved of all the old parks.
