9 1/2" tall ceramic stein by Werner Corzelius. The stein is of relief construction and is a rendition of an early Hot-Air Balloon, a Zeppelin, and is hand painted. Surrounding the body are passengers in the balloon basket and the ceramic lid depicts a portrait of Count Graf Zeppelin and the words "Gut Flug" (Good Flying). Ferdinand Adolf August Heinrich Graf von Zeppelin, also called Count Zeppelin ( July 8 , 1838 - March 8 , 1917 ) was a German aircraft manufacturer, the founder of the Zeppelin Airship company. He was born in Konstanz , Grand Duchy of Baden. He was an avid balloonist and the inventor of the rigid airship which was developed in the early 20th century.
